Monday and Tuesday

The only food I purchased on Monday was before work. I bought a pumpkin donut for $.89, a banana for $.25, and a spinach salad kit for $1.99. We had one more half used up container of spaghetti sauce in the fridge so we boiled some penne pasta and added a couple ounces of mozzarella to finish off the last bits in the bag.

After dinner I made snickerdoodles with cinnamon flavored chips in them. I overbaked a third of them by accident, but Winter ate them anyway. They didn't really taste burned, but they were extremely hard.

Breakfast: pumpkin donut, banana
Lunch: apple, lemon flavored Greek yogurt, spinach salad with pecans, feta, and balsamic vinaigrette
Dinner: penne pasta with leftover spaghetti sauce and mozzarella
Snacks/desserts: snickerdoodles
Beverages: water

Tuesday I worked at the airport until 4:30 and stopped at Safeway on the way home. This is what I bought:

2 lbs brown sugar $1.99
5 lbs all purpose flour $1.88
Black licorice (RFQS) $1.00
Dannon cherry cheesecake dessert (RFQS) $.84
3 flavored yogurts ($.50 each) $1.50
Oat and nut bread $2.50
P3 snack pack $1.67
Bell pepper $1.00
Bag of reduced bananas $.79

Total: $13.19

We also figured out that the honeycrisp apples would be going off sale on Wednesday, so we walked to QFC after dinner and bought a whole lot of them. We spent $25.74 on about 13 and a half pounds. We also bought a half gallon of milk for $1.50 and a bag of Jolly Rancher lollipops from the disco section for $.99 for a total of $28.23. I may regret buying that many apples when it gets to be the end of the month.

For dinner I cooked a pound of brown lentils with three sliced carrots, a can of diced tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, ginger, and curry. Winter made a couple cups of brown rice to go with it. We have a ton of leftovers. It's very filling.

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: apple, mango flavored Greek yogurt
Dinner: brown lentils with tomatoes and carrots, brown rice
Snacks/desserts: P3 snack pack (chicken, cashews, and Jack cheese), black licorice, lollipops, snickerdoodle
Beverages: Crystal Light, water

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday was pretty uneventful. We didn't spend any money on food.

Breakfast: smoothie with milk and frozen banana, mango, and blackberry
Lunch: sandwich with chicken, lettuce, and dijon, honeycrisp apple
Dinner: casserole lasagna noodles with leftover beef pasta sauce and pesto jack cheese
Snacks/desserts: chocolate and vanilla ice cream
Beverages: Crystal Light, water

Sunday evening we went to a friend's house in Renton to play games. We made our own homebrew version of Apples to Apples a few years ago with index cards, and we decided to do an expnasion in the style of Cards against Humanity. We worked on it and tested it Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Before heading to Renton we went to Yogurtland, which cost $13.49. We have a rewards card there, and we achieved Platinum Status with that visit! I don't know whether to be proud, or... not so proud.

We also went to QFC and spent $3.99 on a small veggie tray and $5.79 on a bag of pistachios to take with us.

Breakfast: caramel flavored Greek yogurt
Lunch: peanut butter and jelly sandwich, half a container of Campbell's Cheeseburger Soup
Dinner: mixed nuts, veggies and dip, chips, and salsa, dried apples
Snacks/desserts: cran-raspberry frozen yogurt with gummy bears
Beverages: blueberry sparkling water, hard apple cider

Thursday and Friday

On Thursday I went to Menchie's at lunch time for more Cinnabon frozen yogurt. I spent $4.07. I am having a hard time resisting the allure of working a block away from there, especially when they have such a phenomenal limited edition flavor. Ugh.

Thursday night Jeremy met me at work and walked back home with me. We stopped at QFC to pick up a few things:

Chocolate and vanilla ice cream (like Neapolitan without the strawberry) $2.99
PB 2 $4.69
Chili powder $1.55
Buttermilk bread $2.50

Total: $11.73

Breakfast: caramel flavored Greek yogurt
Lunch: tuna salad and crackers, apple
Dinner: taco salad with lettuce, pre cooked spicy beef, broken leftover taco shells, salsa, shredded cheese, sour cream and olives
Snacks/desserts: Cinnabon frozen yogurt with hot cream cheese icing topping and Cinnabon bites
Beverages: water, Crystal Light

Friday I hung out at work until Winter got done with her art class at 9:30, like I usually do. On our way home we picked up a tub of Hillshire farms natural ham that was the Free Friday Download, but we spent no money.

Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: mango flavored Greek yogurt, clementine, dark chocolate balance bar, apple
Dinner: strawberry Petite Cream, sliced cucumber and red pepper hummus, clementine
Snacks/desserts: none
Beverages: water
