Christmas observed

Also known as "fake Christmas." During the years that Winter lives with us through the school year she spends winter break with her dad, so we choose a day to celebrate before she leaves. Usually the day before. This year she left on the morning of Saturday the 20th, so we had our Christmas Friday evening. I left work a few hours early.

Winter wanted to make "Hot Pockets" with Field Roast and other holiday foods. We used refrigerated butter croissant roll dough for the crust, cubed Field Roast, cornbread stuffing, and sausage gravy from a mix.It was a little difficult to put them together because the croissants didn't want to stay together where they normally are split into two triangles. We baked them about 15 minutes. They tasted great! Like salty processed holiday comfort food. What's not to love?

After dinner we opened our gifts. For dessert we had the glazed apples with vanilla ice cream. And we all got plenty of candy for Christmas and ate a lot.

Breakfast: protein bar
Lunch: leftover mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar, walnuts, and dried cranberries, a clementine
Dinner: holiday hot pockets
Snacks/desserts: Christmas candy, glazed apples with vanilla ice cream
Beverages: water, diet cranberry gingerale
